This page defines how intellectual property, licensing, and authorship work within the MUTERRA ecosystem.
1. Scope of this policy #
This policy applies to all creative content submitted to MUTERRA, including but not limited to:
- Visual content: illustrations, character portraits, icons, skins, frames, animations, visual concepts.
- Narrative content: lore, character descriptions, backstories, worldbuilding texts, narrative concepts, written ideas.
2. Official submission channels #
Only content submitted through official MUTERRA channels is considered valid.
This includes designated Discord channels such as #submissions.
Private messages are not considered official submissions.
3. Originality requirement #
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- the work is your original creation, or
- you have the legal right to use all tools, materials, and references involved.
Copying, rewriting, or visually recreating third-party IP is not allowed, even if modified or generated via AI.
This applies equally to:
- visual designs,
- narrative texts,
- character concepts,
- lore fragments.
4. Prohibited content #
Do not submit content that is recognisably based on existing intellectual property, including:
- known characters, worlds, or storylines,
- distinctive silhouettes, outfits, symbols, or narrative structures,
- AI outputs that clearly replicate famous franchises or authors.
“Style inspiration” is allowed. Reproduction is not.
5. Review and acceptance #
Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
Even if content is:
- reviewed,
- discussed,
- or temporarily approved,
it may still:
- not enter the final product,
- be replaced by another solution,
- be recreated from scratch internally.
Acceptance means consideration, not canonisation.
6. Provisional use before payment #
After submission via official channels:
- MUTERRA and the community may interact with the content, including discussion, iteration, or derivative exploration.
- The content may appear in internal workflows, WIP materials, or previews.
At this stage:
- the license is temporary and conditional;
- full commercial rights are not yet finalised.
7. Final rights transfer #
Commercial usage rights transfer to MUTERRA only after a reward is issued
(cash, tokens, NFTs, or other agreed compensation).
After reward issuance, MUTERRA receives a:
- perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable license
- with the right to:
- use,
- modify,
- adapt,
- tokenize,
- distribute,
- and create derivative works.
Authorship attribution may remain, but control and usage rights belong to MUTERRA.
8. Derivative works & collaboration #
By submitting content, you agree that:
- other creators may build upon your submission,
- your work may be adapted into animations, 3D assets, or narrative derivatives,
- the final result may differ significantly from the original submission.
This is a collaborative ecosystem.
9. Rewards & payment cycles #
Rewards are distributed according to defined cycles and project milestones.
This may include delayed or batch payouts.
Payment timing does not affect:
- acceptance status,
- internal usage,
- or pipeline integration.
Final rights transfer is confirmed at payout.
10. Misrepresentation & consequences #
If a submission is found to violate originality requirements or third-party rights:
- rewards may be withheld or revoked;
- the content may be removed from all platforms;
- the submitter may be held responsible for direct losses caused by the violation, where applicable under law.
Do not submit content you do not have the right to submit.
11. Jurisdiction #
These terms are governed by UK law.
